As the thoughts come along…
I’m going to post about my life! I used to do this all the time, but then I stopped caring about telling the internet all of the stupid things that are happening in my life.
What I will say is that I am happy. It takes a lot to be in such a competitive environment and I’m sure that everyone feels that way. Sure, I love Emerson and am its #1 fan, but sometimes it can be a bit much. Sometimes we forget to take a step back and realize that those who make us feel inferior are also still students.
I’m somewhat happy with the work that I produced this semester. I wish I had tried harder and put more soul into everything that I did, but I think that I once again signed on to do too many things that I really didn’t care about. By no means does that mean that this semester wasn’t well spent, I just wish that I cared more about everything.
However, I learned something very valuable this semester: life is short. Today is December 6th. What did you do today? Did you spend it wishing that you could just reach the end of the day so you could just relax? Are you done with the semester and just can’t wait for break?
What you need to remember is that today is the only time that December 6, 2011 will ever exist. Everyday should be a treasure. Everyone is life is just waiting for the next thing. We’re waiting for break or waiting for the “real world”. We’re waiting for a better position or for class to be over. BUT WHY? When you reach your next goal you will just be waiting for something else.
What I urge anyone who reads this is to START LIVING NOW! There is nothing worse than wishing your life away. I am truly scared of death and would not wish death upon even my worst enemies. Who knows what happens after we die?
So as you study for your finals and wish away your week of hell, take a moment to realize that you will never get those moments back. Don’t wait for tomorrow or the next day and start living in the present. If you “can’t wait for break” you most certainly can! Break will come whether or not you enjoy the time it takes to get there.
In short, don’t wish away your time and I assure you that you will be happier.
